Dr. Sherie Owens Mitchell, DVM
Owner, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Mitchell was born and raised in the Poplar Springs community of the Florida Panhandle. A proud graduate of Graceville High School, she served as Salutatorian of her class before continuing her education at the University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. During her time at UF, she was also a decorated gymnast, competing all four years on the University of Florida gymnastics team.
Her passion for animals led her to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in 2011. For more than 14 years, Dr. Mitchell has worked in general practice, spending over a decade serving both large and small animals.
Fulfilling a lifelong dream, she opened Hometown Veterinary Care in April 2024. Dr. Mitchell is married to Kris Mitchell, and has two wonderful daughters, Haley and Rylee. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time on the water and cheering on her girls at the softball field.
